Frankie

I've worked with a number of labs.  I can pretty much count on them being smart, energetic, friendly (with people and dogs), and swimmers!  Frankie is no slouch with any of these.

When I first met him, he warmed up to me instantly, with his big, toothy grin and shining brown eyes.  He is a people dog, and really thrives on attention.  He's also a good boy with other dogs.  Although he's interested in playing, he knows to respect boundaries with those around him and that's a trait that some dogs never learn.

On his first adventure walk, this big guy did about 7 miles.  We walked at a pretty good clip the whole time except for one break.  It was more of a break for me, because as soon as we stopped walking, he trotted over to the river and jumped in, swimming circles and

splashing all over the place!  Suddenly, Frankie was completely energized!  Imagine a jack russell puppy, but about 10 times bigger.  He's running circles around me, circles around Marshall, back and forth.  Really???  We just hiked over 3 miles to get here, and he's like a five year old entering Chuck E Cheese!

I think Frankie is just happy to be alive and few things make you feel alive like taking a swim in January!  He's going to have a lot of fun exploring the trails and taking regular swim "breaks".

Frankie just out of the water!
