Growing up, my family always had at least one dog. From when I was in the crib, to when I graduated from high school, I’ve always had a four-legged companion to welcome me home every day. Attending college as a freshman in Northern Virginia was a big shock for me.Not only was I hundreds of miles away from my childhood home in Upstate New York, but no dogs allowed in the dorms?!How was I expected to cope? I soon found a remedy for the dog-less situation I found myself in.A local dog walking service in Fairfax County had recently employed a friend and was looking for other employees, and I leapt at the opportunity to be surrounded by dogs again. It was so much fun that I stayed with that company for two years, walking dogs in between my daily classes.
I relocated to Richmond in October 2010, and I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Canine Adventure website.Once I read about them, I knew I had to be a part of such a wonderful service!I have been hard at work with Canine Adventure since March 2011, and I could not be happier.I’m constantly learning and improving, and love the challenge of working with dogs of every size, breed, and temperament.I also really enjoy the sponsor walks, which is a completely new experience each and every time.
I’ve yet to find a dog of my own, but every dog that I take care of, I consider an extension of my family.I will always treat my furry clients with love and respect, and value the bond that we develop over time.Hopefully in the near future, I’ll have to edit this part to include a new addition to my family!
