Sadie is a lab mix. This sweet girl was found in a dumpster as a pup. People suck, especially people who could abandon a puppy.
Sadie lucked out and now has a good home and is a wonderful, relaxed dog. She is friendly and respectful approaching people and other dogs, and gets playful if other dogs are willing. At the same time, she has no problem being "serious" on an adventure walk (it is work, after all!).
Labs and lab mixes are one of the most popular breeds, and rightfully so. They train well, love kids (actually the whole family and all of the friends), and take to new people and situations with ease. Sadie is all of these things.
She also does something that I think is really cool. She hangs around. Sit on the front porch, and Sadie will be around, like in the yard or on the porch with you. Most dogs will feel the need to wander in traffic, visit the neighbors, or cruise the neighborhood looking for trouble. Sadie is content to be around her people. When we're on the trail, I get to be one of her people, so she hangs around. I love it!
As for the person who dumped her, they really missed out.
