What makes Canine Adventure different?

Here at Canine Adventure, we pride ourselves on being a little different than the competition.

There are any number of dog walkers you can choose.  From professional services all the way to the neighbor's kid, and everything in between, there is as wide a variety of options as there are dog breeds.

We work with rescue dogs and fosters regularly.  This keeps us sharp.  Rest assured that the issues you're dealing with (and working on) are nothing new to us.  Furthermore, we collaborate within the Canine Adventure organization regarding issues and challenges we face on the ground with our client dogs.  We're a team and we work as such to make sure your dog gets exactly what they need.

We do continuing education.  Informally, we work with each other, trainers, behaviorists, and other pet care professionals to stay on top of our game.  Formally, we regularly have training sessions with local trainers and target specific issues we face frequently.  We all pass Dog & Cat First Aid and CPR courses.  We geek out to Caesar Millan and Victoria Stillwell.  We work to teach you what we know so that you can provide better leadership to your dog!

Your dog becomes an extension of our family!  Each of us is a person who, if we could, would own way too many dogs!  This is not only a job for us, it's an opportunity to "have another dog".  Time spent with a client dog is like time spent with our own, and we approach our appointments from the mindset that this is "my dog" for a time.

We focus on quality.  Any person who regularly handles your dog will have a profound influence on their behavioral patterns.  You won't watch us being pulled down the street by a dog.  We just don't operate that way.  Every appointment is an opportunity for a client dog to improve their walking skills.  Every appointment is an opportunity for us to become better tuned in to your dog's needs.  We want your dog to learn while with us. We reinforce good behaviors and target problem behaviors so that your dog's walks are consistently educational.

We focus on quality over quantity.  With us, client dogs get the personal attention they need and love.  The big city dog-walker with 15 dogs on leashes is quite the image.  We aren't this, and wholeheartedly believe that focus on each client dog is key to helping them learn and enjoy their walks.

We love a challenge!  Our dog handlers thrive on working with difficult dogs.  If you're at the end of your rope and need professional help, you've come to the right place!

We partner with you.  With consistent feedback from us, you will be empowered to better handle your own dog.  We want you to thrive on walking with your dog, just like we do!  Our followup reports aren't just for entertainment, they often include tips and techniques that work well for us while working with your dog.  We encourage discussion so that you can get the most value from your service, for you and your beloved companion.

The Canine Adventure family is comprised of adults, reliable, dog-loving adults!  By hiring Canine Adventure, you can be assured that you are on board with a dog-handler who can handle the unexpected (and unavoidable) with a mature frame of reference.  We may become your friends, but you can be confident that any service we render will be professional grade and nothing less.

At this point, it probably goes without saying, but we are bonded, licensed, and insured.
